About Me

I live in Mt. Shasta, California. I began my horse obsession at a very young age. I got my first pony and learned a lot from her as she bucked and refused anything I ever wanted to do. I hit the ground almost daily! I started seriously training about 20 years ago when I started my first colt all by myself and had great success.
I specialize in trick training, advanced collection, and softness under saddle. Those are my favorite things to do. I have a deep love for Dressage, and practice the tests as a challenge even though I have never shown in that discipline.
I worked for an Arabian breeder as an exerciser through my teen years, worked at a Peruvian Paso ranch as a trainer, and with my friend Frank Roda at Mt. Shasta Kigers.
Down Under Mustangs is something I have always wanted to do - save any horses that I can from abuse, neglect, starvation, rehab them and retrain them and turn them into useful horses that people want and treasure.
Down Under Mustangs is a private, not for profit all equine rescue, feral and domestic. ALL of the horses here are fed and taken care of out of my pocket. I receive no funding of any kind. I do take donations for the horses - and all donations go 100% to the horses.
The horses I have for sale on this site - are horses that I have trained and made useful. The monies collected from their sale as well as fees charged for training horses go directly into feeding the rescue horses, for vet care, medications, etc. This is how I am able to feed them.
The horses that are up for adoption have limited training, special needs, or are back to health after a bad situation. These horses will continue to be for adoption until a home can be found for them. If they do not find a home, they will be trained a soon as I have time to do so, and eventually make the sale list so that I can go on rescuing other horses.
